On Saturday, February 11th from 7:00 – 9:00 PM, we’re playing a Valentine’s Day masquerade party and art opening at Zapow Gallery. And not just any masquerade party and art opening – a ZOMBIE themed masquerade party and art opening! Krekel has art in the show, of course. Here’s what Zapow has to say about it: “Dress up in your best zombie or lusty lady costume…or combine both! Costumes are not required but prizes will be won for the best! There’ll be FREE BEER from French Broad Brewing Co. and awesome tunes from Mad Tea! Best of all? It’s FREE!”

OK, we’re hitting the road for the first time in a little while to play a couple of shows this weekend – both will be worth the effort, we’re sure. On Friday we’re opening for Southern Culture on the Skids at Ziggy’s in Winston-Salem, NC. Then on Saturday we’re going to be at the Tin Roof in Charleston, SC with Pinche Gringo. We’re excited to be heading to great venues, and to be sharing the stage with bands we love. We intend to completely rock out.

Best of WNC Bash

This Friday night we’re going to be a part of the Best of WNC Bash hosted by Mountain Xpress at the Orange Peel, thanks to our big “win” in the “Fragglepop” category. We have a surprise or two planned for our set (which will be around 8:30 pm) – hope to see you!

Our friend Jon Reid has a call-in internet radio show on Asheville FreeMedia (Ashevillle FM) called “Race to the Bottom.” It’s Sundays from 7 pm to 9 pm. We provided the theme music for it, heard at the beginning of each show. On Sunday, November 20th, Race to the Bottom will be broadcast live from BoBo Gallery in Asheville. Check out this poster, the line-up is incredible – some of our most favorite performers on Asheville. We are excited to be a part of it. The live show will be a fundraiser for Asheville FM. If you don’t live in Asheville, you can tune in live online.
